About Beezyhives

Beezyhives is a beekeeping app made by a beekeeper. The guides on this site are based on the same advice the app uses for your reminders.

Who is behind it?

My name is Dennis Akray. I am a beekeeper and a member of Gl. Roskilde Amts Biavlerforening, a local beekeeping association in Denmark. I built Beezyhives because I wanted an easy overview of my own hives: when I last inspected them, what I saw, when to treat for varroa, and what goes into the treatment records.

How we write the guides

  • The guides are based on Danish conditions and rules. Rules, products and timing in your country may differ.
  • Where rules can change, we point you to the authorities.
  • Each guide shows when it was last updated. If you find a mistake, write to us and we will fix it.
